Join Sylacauga Parks and Recreation for a fun and engaging Mahjong Lesson Series, perfect for beginners or those looking to sharpen their skills! This three-week instructional series will be led by instructor Cindy Womack, who will guide participants through the fundamentals of Mahjong in a friendly, welcoming environment.

Dates: March 10, 17, and 24

Time: 6:00 PM

Location: J. Craig Smith Community Center

Cost: $30 per person

After the lesson series begins, players are also invited to participate in Mahjong Open-Play sessions:

Fridays at 1:00 PM, beginning March 13

Tuesdays at 6:00 PM, beginning March 31

Open-play is free, and no registration is required—just bring your Mahjong card and show up!

Mahjong is a classic tile-based game typically played with four players. Players must use strategy, memory, and a bit of luck to decide which tiles to keep, which to discard, and when to claim tiles played by others. The first player to complete a valid hand wins the round, making Mahjong a fun and engaging mix of skill, strategy, and social play.
